Management is the act of getting one or more people together to work to attain the goals of the organization. Control is exercised to see that all the activities are carried in accordance with the plan adopted, orders given and principles laid down. Control is one the important people management skill which helps in checking of errors, fixing the errors by taking corrective action against them to achieve the objectives of the company in accordance to the planning. This helps in comparing performance of the organization with pre-determined standards. It is the process which measures and directs the actual performance to meet the goals of the organization.

A manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and controlling activities of the people in an organization. Leadership is a critical management skill. Manager has to show good leadership skills in directing the activities of the employees towards the goal of the organization. This means they have to lead, manage and inspire people to achieve organizational goals. Leading includes setting direction to the organization and motivating group of people towards the organizational goals. Leadership skills of a manager should motivate people to focus on their strengths. Leadership skill should help a manager to build and direct healthy team through which organizational goals are achieved.
